Changes in AIIMS fee: Now investigation up to Rs 300 will be free, charges of private ward doubled

Lakhs and crores of people reach AIIMS for treatment, many of whom are financially very weak. Relief news has come for such people. Now all tests and laboratory charges up to Rs 300 have been made free in AIIMS.

AIIMS administration has issued an order today on Thursday. The administration has made all tests up to Rs 300 free. After this order, many tests including blood test, X-ray, ultrasound have now become free of cost. It is being implemented after getting approval from AIIMS President and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Private ward fee increased by one and a half to double

AIIMS administration has doubled the fee of private ward. The charge for B-category room in the ward has now been increased from Rs.2000 to Rs.3000. At the same time, the charge for the deluxe class room has been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000. If seen, the charge of the deluxe room has been doubled directly. This fee will be applicable from June 1.

Committee was constituted to revise the fee

AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria constituted a team committee in 2017. In this committee, there was a demand to increase the fee of private ward and free examination up to Rs 500 for the patients coming for treatment in OPD. After about 10 years, the fee of private ward has been changed. The members of the committee had argued in their report that having free tests would bring huge relief to poor patients.
