Sony usually uses the platform to introduce its new TV series like other brands but this year it is taking a different approach.

Sony Electronics won’t have any new TVs to announce at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 this week. In a report by The Verge, this has been said by quoting the company.

However, Sony may showcase the upcoming PlayStation VR2 virtual reality (VR) headset at the event, which begins on January 5 in Las Vegas.

In a statement from Sony Electronics, company spokeswoman Chloe Canta said, “Sony will not be sharing any TV details during CES 2023. However, please stay tuned for an announcement coming soon.” It is interesting to see that the company has not done so. TVs at the event, especially when the likes of LG and Samsung made their appearances earlier this week.

Sony is likely to have a different schedule to introduce the new TVs but we still don’t know the reason behind this decision. CES is the biggest non-mobile tech event on the planet, giving brands the chance to showcase their latest tech products to the world.

The event is making a comeback in an offline avatar after three years due to the pandemic. It is possible that Sony is not confident of showing the products publicly and would rather wait than introduce half-finished products. Either way, Sony will have other products to showcase, and the next few days will be tech-heavy in that sense.
