‘Centre must stop politics, disburse funds for MNREGS’: Mamata Banerjee hits out at BJP over central team’s visit

Sagar Island (West Bengal): Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday targeted the BJP-led government at the Center in the backdrop of two central teams visiting West Bengal for field inspection of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) houses. It should stop doing politics and distribute funds for MGNREGS. He visited Sagar Island in South 24 Parganas district on Wednesday to review the preparations for the upcoming Gangasagar fair. Reacting to the news of the central team’s visit, Banerjee said, “I am here to visit Kapil Muni Ashram, not to do politics. The Center should stop politics…Release funds for the 100-day plan.” Ask for.” Two central teams of officials from Ministry of Rural Development have visited East Medinipur and Malda districts separately for rapid verification of PMAY-G houses.

In the last one month, the state has received funds from the PM Awas Yojana as well as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Generation Scheme. Banerjee had alleged a few days back that it was the strategy of the Center behind giving money.
