CBSE Term 2 exam from April 26: Final stage preparation tips from last year’s toppers

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) TThe erm 2 exam for both class 10 and 12 is scheduled to begin from April 26. Class 12 exams will start with Entrepreneurship, while Class 10 exams will start with Painting. Unlike Term 1, in which the question paper is in MCQ format, the second will be conducted in subjective mode.

This means, a different preparation strategy. The questions will have subjective and case-based questions along with some internal choices. With just a few days left for the final exams of the session, here are some tips by CBSE 2020 and 2021 toppers on how to join the board:

Hiteshwar Sharma

Hiteshwar, a resident of Chandigarh, was the topper of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. A student of Bhawan Vidyalaya, Sector-15, Panchkula, he secured 100 marks in Sociology, Political Science, Economics and Physical Education. Sharing the preparation tips, he said Mantra is “Continuous study with full concentration” and regular revision. “One cannot be a topper with just two months of studies; It takes years of hard work to become a topper.”

Aishani Vaidya:

The class 12 topper of 2021 from Army Public School, Noida, Aishani had secured 499 out of 500 marks. He scored 100 marks in English, Economics, Computer Science and Psychology. Mathematics was the only subject in which he lost marks. Last year, CBSE canceled the final examination and the results were prepared on the basis of an alternative formula which also includes internal examination.

He had to resort to online classes like others. “Learning online has become difficult. However, I don’t think every kid has had the luck to do so. We had our teachers with us who really helped us in our education. It becomes even more difficult if teachers don’t help you with your learning,” says Aishani.

Tushar Singh

Tushar Singh of Delhi Public School, Bulandshahr secured 500/500 marks in class 12 in 2020 in Arts stream. He did not take any tuition. The results were declared through internal assessment as CBSE had to cancel the exam that year as well, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His attitude towards studies was more calm. “I did not follow any strict routine while studying. I studied for just 7 hours a day,” he said.

Karishma Arora and Hansika Shukla

In 2019, Karishma Arora and Hansika Shukla emerged as the joint toppers. Both scored 499 marks. Karishma, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, was also the first student of her city to top the CBSE Class 12 exams. She said that her “careful planning” throughout the year helped her achieve the score. He also gave time to Kathak which was a stress reliever for him. Meanwhile, Hansika divides her syllabus into chapters and topics. She also reads newspapers to know about current affairs.
