“The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected the country and keeping in view its impact on the students, CBSE as a special measure for the academic session 2021-22 has decided that neither the examination fee Nor will the registration fee be charged from the students who have lost both the parents or the surviving parents or the legal guardians or the adoptive parents due to COVID,” CBSE said in an official notice.

Schools have been asked to upload a list of candidates appearing for the Board 2022. To be a part of the list, students have to pay the board exam fee as per the earlier rules. The normal fee is Rs 1500 and Rs 1200 per candidate for five subjects.

CBSE will conduct the board exams twice this year. Term-I exam will be conducted in November-December. Term I exam will consist of multiple choice questions consisting of case-based MCQs and assertion-reasoning type MCQs and will be conducted for 90 minutes. Term II will have questions in various formats including case-based, situation-based, open-ended questions as well as both short and long answer type questions. This paper will be conducted for two hours. However, if the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic does not return to normal, the March examinations will be conducted for 90 minutes of MCQ-based paper.
