Russo Brothers has now spoken about the star cast of their upcoming film Citadel which features Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden.

The power packed trailer stars Priyanka and Richard’s characters Mason Kane and Nadia Sinha as they set out to stop Manticore, a nefarious new spy syndicate. What was not surprising was Priyanka’s badass avatar who is as deadly with her act as she looks. Turns out that the Russo Brothers, the directors of Citadel, were equally impressed with the actress.
Ahead of the trailer launch, director duo Jo and Anthony held a press meet along with their lead stars to reveal about the upcoming web series. At the global press conference, the Russo Brothers revealed why they chose Priyanka and Richard for the lead roles. The star cast of Citadel is “extraordinary” according to Joe Russo.
She added, “We’re incredibly lucky. The cast on the show is extraordinary.” Reflecting more on the film’s concept, Jo said that what she and Anthony liked about Citadel is its “high concept” – which that “both Richard and Priyanka get to play multiple versions of themselves.”
“And the notion that their memories have been erased allows them to create new characters who rediscover who they were. And again, their new personalities come into conflict with their old personalities. … That was the idea that I think got us most excited because I don’t know that I’ve ever seen it before,” he said.
Citadel is produced by the Russo Brothers, widely known for their MCU projects Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It will stream on Prime Video.
The ensemble cast of the web series also includes Leslie Manville and Ashley Cummings. As per the announcement, the first two episodes will premiere on April 28. Thereafter, a new episode will stream every Friday and will go on till May 26. Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s Citadel will be followed by spin-offs in multiple languages. Worldwide. Talking about the Indian adaptation, which was announced recently, will be helmed by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan. Spin-offs of the English version will also be set in Italy, Mexico and Spain.
