The court granted bail to Nihang Naveen Sandhu for not having solid evidence in the case of beating a poultry farm employee on the Singhu border. Sandhu was accused of thrashing Manoj Paswan, a resident of Bihar, for not giving him a cock. In front of the media, Nihang said that he did not demand for the chicken, but they had a fight over catching the gibbon.

The court had sent Nihang Naveen Sandhu on one-day police remand on Friday. Naveen Sandhu was produced in the court on Saturday. The court allowed Sandhu’s bail plea as there was no solid evidence in the case. Talking to the media after getting bail, Nihang demanded that he too was thrashed by some people on the Singhu border and action should be taken against them too.

Was taken on remand for lathi recovery
It is noteworthy that the incident of beating took place around 11 am on Thursday at Singhu border. At that time, originally from Bihar, Manoj Paswan was going to supply chicken on a rickshaw. Manoj Paswan works with Satyavan, who runs a chicken shop at Kundli Border. Manoj had alleged that on the way, Naveen had asked for a rooster from him. His allegation was that when Nihang was asked to keep a full account of the chickens, he beat him up. The police had taken the accused on remand to recover the sticks used in the assault.

Two videos came out after the beating
Two videos of laborer Manoj Paswan have also surfaced. The first video is of 39 seconds, which is of Singhu Border. In this, Manoj sitting on the ground is narrating his ordeal. In the second 44-second video, Manoj, lying on a stretcher in Sonepat hospital, said, “I even took out a slip containing the number of chickens from my pocket and showed it to Nihang.” While taking out the slip, the beedi lying in my pocket came in my hand, seeing which Nihang abused and said that you smoke beedis. He said that everyone drinks, I also drink but here I do not drink. On this he beat me again.
