Rourkela: The platform of the train is changed for not earning the convenience of the passengers! – Rail Hunt

  • Stall operators upset due to shifting of trains from platform number 2-3 of Rourkela station to 1
  • Expressing desire to cut the prescribed fee and leave the stall by giving a letter to the Railways

Rourkela. The truth may be even more bitter than that, but the ground reality for now is that in Chakradharpur Railway Division, the platform of trains is changed for earning, not for the convenience of the passengers. It is suspecting that the vendors who take the stalls at the station by paying a high price, who are upset with the change of platform of trains these days and have written a letter to the Railways expressing their willingness to surrender the stall.

The matter has come to the fore of Rourkela station, but there are many other stations of the railway division in the JD of this discrimination. This complaint has been heard occasionally even at Tatanagar station, while the officials of the Operations Department deny these allegations. Officials said on the condition of anonymity that fixing the platform at the railway station is a matter of policy and circumstantial matter, it is not affected by whether or not to benefit anyone.

However, the stall operators of Rourkela station have conveyed their concerns by continuously sending letters to Senior DCM of Railways Manish Pathak. He says that according to the survey he had done before taking the stall, he had seen the frequency coming on platform number 2 and 3 of trains. After that he had won the tender for the stall. Now those trains are being taken on platform number one, due to which their business has come to a standstill.

According to the stall operators, the first Corona period came, due to which their business was affected to a great extent. When the movement of trains started after Corona, they had anticipated that now everything would be fine, but in the meantime, platform number 1 was removed from platform number 2 and 3 for those trains going to and from Ranchi, Hatia, Dhanbad. It was done by seeing whose stay he had taken the tender. However, the stall operators are also accusing the stall operators with a veiled tongue that this is being done to gain upper earnings and benefit the stalls on platform number one.

According to the survey done before taking the stall, we had seen the frequency coming on platform number 2 and 3 of the trains. After that he had won the tender for the stall. Now those trains are being taken on platform number one, due to which their business has come to a standstill.

The stall operators have told in a letter to the senior DCM that this unexpected decision of the railways has caused huge losses and has said that if this situation continues, they will find it difficult to do business at the station and they will have to wrap up their business. Many stall operators have requested in a letter to the senior DCM that they should be given a stall only on platform number 1 so that they can do their business. Many people have also requested the Railways to surrender the license.

On the other hand, the stall operators of Rourkela station told Railhunt that when they spoke to the station manager (Rourkela) in this regard, they said that verbally all passenger trains from Chakradharpur divisional headquarters were ordered to be taken on platform number one. Is. According to the station manager, he has got an order that guards trains should be taken on platform number 2 and 3. Although this order is also not written, it is also happening on oral order.

It is worth mentioning here that a major part of the revenue in Chakradharpur Railway Division comes from freight. There has been a trend of giving priority to freight transportation, for this many such instances have also come to the fore when the guards have been operated by affecting the passenger trains unannounced. It is likely that the movement order of Guards trains from platform number 2 and 3 of Rourkela station is also not a part of this process? However, the possibility of this seems very less.

In this case, the officials of the Railway Commercial Department say that the operating department is responsible for fixing the platform at the station, so they are compelled to take any decision in this matter immediately. For this a letter is being written to the operating department and soon a unanimous decision will be taken. In this case, the side of Senior DCM Manish Pathak has not been found so far.

Stall operators protested by closing shop even during GM tour

During the visit of Archana Joshi, General Manager of South Eastern Railway, the stall operators of the station lodged their protest by closing the shop. At that time, the officials of the Commercial Department requested to open the stall saying that it is not appropriate to do any kind of activity in the GM tour, their demands would be taken immediately after the GM’s visit but nothing happened. The stall operators are eyeing the initiative of the senior DCM, from which they are expected to get some relief.
