Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh does not agree with the Agneepath scheme for army recruitment of the Central Government. The Veteran Captain of India-China and India-Pakistan war said that 4 years is too little time for a soldier. The recruitment policy of All India All Class is also not correct. The Captain said that the Center should review this scheme of recruitment in the army. Captain Amarinder Singh is a BJP ally in Punjab.

Captain expressed surprise at the change
The Captain said that I wonder why the Center needed such a fundamental change in the recruitment policy. This policy is working very well. The decision would undermine the long-standing diversity in the regiments. The Captain said that the All India All Class Recruitment would undermine the ethos of the regiments. Different regiments like Sikh, Dogra, Madras have different customs, which are important from the military point of view. It has been ignored.

Tough Challenges From East and West
Captain Amarinder Singh said that the existing short term policy of 7 and 5 years is the right one. 4 year policy is not eligible to work. In this also, there will be service of less than 3 years after taking out the period of training and leave. He said that India’s professional army is facing tough challenges from East and West. As such, this policy is not eligible to work.
