Captain Amarinder has a big heart, no problem, says Sunil Jakhar, after meeting to resolve infighting

Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar, who had called a meeting of district presidents and legislators on Monday to resolve the alleged infighting between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and rebel MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu, said the meeting was only with Sidhu as the state party chief. I was to welcome.

“This meeting was called to welcome Sidhu… it was not any other meeting. People with vested interests are making inappropriate comments,” he told CNN-News18 after the meeting.

Former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu was on Sunday appointed as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee amid rising tension in Punjab Congress.

But Jakhar rubbished reports that there was tension between the state Congress and Sidhu.

“Captain Amarinder Singh has a huge stature and a big heart. There is no issue… only issues with respect to Punjab. Everything will be done on time.” He said, “We will work together for elections in the state next year.”

Meanwhile, the new Punjab chief of Congress on Monday thanked the party leadership for appointing him as the Punjab unit president and said he would work more to strengthen the organization in the state.

Sidhu, who replaced Sunil Jakhar, was promoted to the post despite opposition from Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Today we have to work further for the same dream and strengthen the invincible fort of Congress in Punjab. I am grateful to Hon’ble Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for believing in me and giving me this important responsibility.

“Will work with every member of Congress family in Punjab to fulfill the mission of ‘Jitega Punjab’ as a humble Congress worker to give back power to the people through Punjab model and 18 point agenda of the high command… Mary The journey has just begun, he said in another tweet. The Congress also appointed four working presidents to assist Sidhu in the assembly elections.

The new working presidents are Sangat Singh Gilzian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Pawan Goyal and Kuljit Singh Nagra. In another tweet, Sidhu also shared a picture of his father with former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

“Prosperity, privilege and freedom not only to be shared among a few, my father a Congress worker who left a royal house and joined the freedom struggle, was sentenced to death for his patriotic work, Which was made by Kings Amnesty as DCC President, MLA, MLC & Advocate General,” Sidhu tweeted.
