Cannabis Worth Over ₹1cr Seized In Noida, 4 Arrested | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an inter-state drug racket, with the seizure of some 500 kg of cannabis worth over Rs 1 crore and the arrest of four men.
The accused have been identified as Jitendra Singh and Sushil Yadavboth residents of Azamgarh, Ravi Singh, a resident of Delhi, and Rakesh Pathak from Ghaziabad’s Loni area. The two kingpins of the gang are, however, on the run, officials said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said that the four were arrested during routine checking at the 12/22 crossroad in the Sector 24 police station area on Wednesday.
“The checking was being carried out in view of the upcoming elections. Our men intercepted a truck and during checking, some domestic-use items were found inside the truck. Further checking helped unearth packets of cannabis concealed inside the items,” he said.
“All the four people traveling in the truck were taken into custody. During interrogation, they told us that they were part of a drug trafficking gang in NCR which sourced cannabis from Andhra Pradesh. Teams have been formed to nab the two kingpins named by the four,” Singh said.
The 512kg of cannabis seized from their possession is worth over Rs 1 crore, police said. “The accused used to transport the cannabis and supply them in the national capital region at a huge margin,” Rajneesh Verma, assistant commissioner (Noida-2), said.
