Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 gameplay leaked online, and Activision is not liking it – Times of India

Microsoft-owned Activision is set to release Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on October 28. The company has announced that players who will pre-order the game will be able to access the campaign a week early. The video game publisher is also expected to reveal the COD: Warzone 2 game soon after. However, a user on Twitter, going by the handle @3rbbcod, reportedly leaked the campaign gameplay of the upcoming Modern Warfare 2. Activision has reported the Tweet, and the same has been removed by Twitter and the account suspended.
What’s in the gameplay leak video
According to the report by Eurogamer, the leaked gameplay video shows new vehicle mechanics which include — hijacking, leaping from vehicle to vehicle and vehicle destruction. It is important to note that these new mechanics have already been discussed by Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward. The developer has also confirmed that these new mechanics will also be included in the upcoming Warzone 2 game as well.

Why Activision may be trying to contain the leak
Twitter has suspended the user’s account for violating its rules. “Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rules,” is the message that appears when one looks for the account. However, the video that the user shared on Twitter continues to make rounds on the internet on platforms like — Reddit, etc.
The report claims that compared to other gameplay leaks, this one is minor as it doesn’t include spoilers and demonstrates mechanics which have already been talked about by Infinity Ward.

Still, Activision seems to be trying hard to cover it as the publisher has planned a special Call of Duty reveal event scheduled for September 15. The report speculates that to maintain the traction for this event Activision may be trying hard to take down any leaks and videos related to the upcoming title.
