BTS ‘Butter’ tops Billboard Hot 100 chart for sixth week in a row

The summer tune “Butter” by Korean boy band BTS continues its stellar performances on the global stage. The song has now completed six consecutive weeks as a chartbuster on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

According to MRC figures, “Butter” earned 28.3 million radio airplay audience impressions, up to two percent, for dominating the music scene with its longest-reigning number one song.

The Grammy-nominated band is expected to release their new single “Permission to Dance” which will be included on the CD single “Butter”, which is due out Friday.

Ed Sheeran as well as Steve Mack, Jenna Andrews and Johnny McDaid participated in the production of the song.

BTS, consisting of J-Hope, RM, Suga, Jungkook, V, Jin and Jimin, have been capturing the hearts of millions since June 2013, having gained recognition for their authentic and self-produced music. They have broken several world records and have been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 63rd Grammy Awards and recognized at the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.

BTS is an abbreviation for Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates as ‘Bulletproof Boy Scouts’.

The band topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart three times in 2020 and was Time’s Entertainer of the Year 2020.
