An explosion took place during the repair of a washing machine at a flat in Bhavani Peth area of Pune city on Sunday afternoon, although no one was injured in the incident, police said. A senior police officer said that it happened around 4 pm.
“The explosion took place inside the flat of a man, who works as an electrician. According to preliminary information, the man was repairing a washing machine when the incident took place. During the repair work, he was drinking water. Woke up when there was an explosion,” said Priyanka Naranware, DCP (Zone 1).
“No one was injured in the incident, but we are trying to gather more information,” he said. Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said, “So far, nothing suspicious has been found in the incident. We are probing the matter.”
