The Rajya Sabha MP took over as the chairman of the UP State Construction and Infrastructure Development Corporation in 2018. The party’s decision to include Verma in the central team comes ahead of the crucial Uttar Pradesh elections in 2022. Ahead of the assembly elections, the last rural polls are also scheduled to be held on July 10. The candidates are to be nominated by Thursday. .
