Nupur Sharma Prophet Comment: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued new guidelines to all its spokespersons before appearing in the TV debate after the Nupur Sharma controversy. The BJP on Sunday suspended Sharma and expelled Delhi unit’s media chief Naveen Kumar Jindal as a controversy erupted with protests from some Muslim countries over his alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad. Sharma’s comments during a TV debate about 10 days ago and Jindal’s now deleted tweets triggered a Twitter trend calling for boycott of Indian products in some countries.

BJP issues new guidelines to spokespersons for attending TV debates

  1. Only official spokespersons and panelists will go to the debate on TV channels, who will be entrusted with the media cell of the party.
  2. The spokespersons have been advised not to speak against any religion, religious leaders, worshipers and religious symbols.
  3. They have been asked to use restrained language, not to get agitated or agitated. The spokespersons should stick to the central issues of the BJP and focus on the debate about the welfare of the poor.
  4. The spokespersons have been asked not to violate the ideology and principles of the party even if provoked by anyone.
  5. Before appearing in any TV debate, they should be aware of the topic of the debate, prepare for it and should also be aware of the party line on a particular matter.

Meanwhile, amid protests by Muslim groups and strong reactions from countries like Kuwait, Qatar and Iran, the BJP issued a statement saying that it respects all religions and strongly condemns the insult of any religious personality.

Qatar and Kuwait summoned Indian ambassadors and handed them protest notes, which the Gulf countries called a clear “disapproval and condemnation” of the BJP leader’s controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammad.

The foreign ministries of both the Gulf countries welcomed the statement issued by the ruling party in India in which it had announced the suspension of the leader.
