PM Modi to preside over all-party meeting today before winter session of Parliament

Speaker Birla will meet floor leaders of parties on November 29

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will preside over a meeting with the leaders of the parties on November 29 for the smooth conduct of the winter session of Parliament. Sources gave this information on Saturday. He said the meeting is likely to be held with the Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha.

Almost all opposition parties boycotted the Constitution Day celebrations organized by the Lok Sabha Secretariat in the Central Hall of Parliament on 26 November. Birla expressed “pain” over the boycott of the event by the opposition parties.

Interacting with the media after the program, Birla had said that he would sit with the opposition and the ruling party to build a consensus for the smooth functioning of the House. TMC is not interested in coordinating with Congress, opposition parties may meet on November 29

The Trinamool Congress on Saturday said it was not interested in coordinating with the Congress during the upcoming winter session of Parliament, a party leader said on Saturday, but said it would take up various issues of interest to the people.
