Patna/Samastipur: It may sound strange but a 17-year-old boy was shot dead after charging Rs 10 as fare for transporting the brother of a flood-affected Bahubali from one place to another on his boat. Samastipur district on monday
The incident is of Banbhaura village. Bithan police station area. death, Sikil YadavA man named Anil Yadav was charged Rs 10 as rent for transporting him from one place to another on Sunday evening in a flood-watered village.
In anger Anil’s brother Ranbir Yadav, who are known for their muscle power in this region. Ranbir went to Sikil’s house at around 6 am on Monday and got into an argument with Sikil over his audacity to ask for money from his brother. During this, Ranbir took out his pistol and shot him on the sickle.
The bullet hit Sickle in the stomach, causing serious injuries. As soon as he shouted for help, Ranbir fled from the spot. The injured was taken to the local primary health center in Bithan from where he was referred to Sadar Hospital in Samastipur.
However, Sikil succumbed to his injuries on the way to Sadar Hospital. His father Om Prakash alleged that Ranbir killed his son to collect Rs 10 for the boat fare.
“The entire village is under water from thigh to waist due to floods in the area. Boat is the only mode of transport. My son was assigned the task of transporting the residents of the village on a country boat and a nominal amount was charged for him as fare,” Om Prakash told this newspaper.
Bithan police station in-charge Mohammad Khushibuddin said that the incident was the result of a dispute over charging of fare for a country boat. He said, ‘Ranbir is absconding. He said that Om Prakash has lodged an FIR against Ranbir and Anil, residents of Banbhaura.
An investigating officer said that the cost of a bullet used in a revolver is between Rs 500 and Rs 700 in Bihar.
