The Directorate General of Mine Safety (DGMS), under the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment, will investigate the cracking of hills during mining in the Aravalli hills in Bhiwani, Haryana. The accident happened in Tosham area on Saturday morning. The Haryana and Rajasthan region of the Aravalli Hills comes under the Northern Zone of DGMS, which is headquartered in Ghaziabad.

The Mining and Geology Department of Haryana has informed the Directorate General of Mine Safety (DGMS) about the accident. Now a special team coming from Ghaziabad will investigate here and find out whether this mountain has slipped on its own or it was an uncontrolled blast during mining, due to which the stones fell. According to Bhiwani district mining officer Bhupendra Singh, controlled blasts are carried out to break stones during mining.

Govardhan Mines has 10 years contract
M/s Govardhan Mines and Minerals Private Limited Company has tender for mining in the hills of Aravali in Dadam area of ​​Bhiwani district. The company took this tender for 10 years in the year 2018.

Bhiwani Mining Officer Bhupendra Singh said that due to pollution, all mining and crushers were closed for two months on the orders of National Green Tribunal (NGT). On Friday – December 31 – the NGT gave permission to run the crusher, after which mining was started again in the Dadam area.

According to Bhupendra Singh, initially it seems that this accident happened due to the cracking of the mountain. However, the reason behind the accident is not clear as the mountains leave the place due to rain. It has rained in this area only recently. In such a situation, even if there is little vibration, the mountain starts moving.

According to Bhiwani Mining Officer Bhupendra Singh, stones are broken only by controlled blast. This area comes under the Northern Zone of DGMS, which is headquartered in Ghaziabad. The Mining Department and the mining contractor have given information at the Ghaziabad Headquarters of DGMS. Now the team there will come and investigate it.

Minister said – if negligence is found, action will be taken
Haryana’s Mining Minister Moolchand Sharma said that the priority of the government at this time is to rescue the people buried under the stones. After the completion of the relief work, it will be investigated whether the accident was due to the cracking of the mountain or due to the blast. Strict action will be taken if any negligence is detected.
