Bhumi Pednekar expressed her gratitude after receiving the News18 Shosha Reel Award.
The actress, who won awards for Badhaai Do and Govinda Naam Mera, expressed her happiness in a poignant note.
Bhumi Pednekar was a part of three films in 2022, each one different from the other. While the comedy-thriller Govinda Naam Mera opposite Vicky Kaushal featured the actress in an almost negative role, Akshay Kumar The starrer Raksha Bandhan was a powerful film revolving around the social subject of dowry, and Badhaai Do with Rajkummar Rao spoke about LGBTQIA+ relationships. Bhumi was presented with the Breakthrough Performance of the Year Award at the News18 Shosha Reel Awards on Saturday.
On Sunday, Bhumi shared a picture of herself holding her News18 Shosha trophy and smiling for the camera. Not only this, he also wrote a note expressing happiness on receiving the award. Her caption read, “Awarded for not one but two pieces of my work that the jury deemed worthy of appreciation. This came as such a surprise. ‘Breakthrough Performance of the Year’ for #BadhaaiDo and #GovindanAamMera. Received the award from Ramesh Sippy sir and he patted me on the back saying well done. He was also on the jury and I was very overwhelmed there. Thank you #News18ShowshaReelAwards and the jury. This is for both my directors #HarshvardhanKulkarni @shashankkhaitan.”

Bhumi will next be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s directorial venture Bheed alongside Rajkummar Rao and Ashutosh Rana. The film is slated to release on March 24, 2023. After this Bhumi will also be seen in ‘Afwah’. Directed by Sudhir Mishra, the film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Taapsee Pannu. The film is expected to release in 2023.
