Congress has prepared the list of its candidates for the assembly elections in Uttarakhand. According to sources, the party has sealed the names of candidates for all the 70 assembly seats in the state. These names can be formally announced by the Congress on Saturday. After the meeting which lasted till late Friday night to finalize the ticket, Uttarakhand in-charge Devendra Yadav said, “The names of the candidates have been discussed in all the seats. The full list will be made public on Saturday.

Earthquake in Kargil, magnitude 4

Strong tremors of 02.53 earthquake were felt in Kargil of Jammu and Kashmir tonight. Its intensity has been measured at 4.0 on the React scale. Decision on election rallies in five states including UP today

The Election Commission is going to hold an important meeting regarding election rallies during the assembly elections of five states on Saturday. In this meeting, a decision will be taken whether the ban on election rallies should be extended or not. State officials including the Union Health Secretary will attend the meeting.

Earlier, the Election Commission had banned public meetings from January 8 to January 15 and January 15 to January 22 due to Corona. The term of this ban will end tomorrow.
