Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin Receives GMP Certificate From Hungary

Hyderabad: Bharat Biotech on Thursday said its COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin has received a certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance from the Hungarian authorities.

“Another milestone in our account COVAXIN® receives GMP certificate from Hungary. This is the first EUDRAGDMP compliance certificate received by Bharat Biotech from European regulators. #BharatBiotech #COVAXIN #covaxininhungary,” Bharat Biotech tweeted along with the statement.

The Hyderabad-based vaccine maker said it has received approval from the National Institute of Pharmacy and Nutrition Hungary, which is GMP certified, to manufacture Covaxin.

“The certificate of GMP is now listed on the EudraGMDP database, the database of the European Community of Manufacturing Authorities and a certificate of good manufacturing practice,” Bharat Biotech said. In many additional countries around the world.

Bharat Biotech further said that with this approval, it has achieved another important milestone in innovating and manufacturing vaccines at global quality standards and moving forward in the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Covaxin is one of four vaccines approved by India’s drug regulator. The other three vaccines used in the nationwide vaccination campaign are Covishield, Sputnik V and Moderna.
