Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin now on Oman’s list of approved Covid-19 vaccines

Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin has been included in the approved list of COVID-19 vaccines for travel to Oman without quarantine. In a tweet, Bharat Biotech mentioned: “Covaxin has now been added to the approved list of #COVID19 vaccines for travel to Oman without quarantine. This will facilitate the travelers to India to be vaccinated against Covaxin.” The Vaccine chief cited a press release issued by the Embassy of India, Muscat in this regard.

“The Embassy of India, Muscat, is pleased to inform that the Government of the Sultanate of Oman has included Covaxin in the approved list of Covid-19 vaccines for travel to Oman. The Civil Aviation Authority issued a notification in this regard on October 27,” the release said. All passengers from India who have received two doses of Covaxin at least 14 days prior to the estimated arrival date can now travel to Oman without the need. of quarantine, it added.

All other Covid-19 related requirements/conditions, such as pre-arrival RT-PCR test will be applicable for such passengers, the release said. This notification will make travel to Oman much easier for Indian citizens who have taken Covaxin.

Passengers who have taken AstraZeneca/Covishield are already allowed to travel to Oman without quarantine.
