In the first 7 days of November, only 3.5 lakh doses of vaccine were given. Post Diwali, health officials are all set to boost the vaccination drive.
Health department officials will now reach the homes of those beneficiaries who have not yet received the second dose. In October, the immunization drive declined due to festivals and the harvesting season. Health teams will remind those who have become eligible for the second dose, besides focusing on the approximately 89 lakh people who are 18+ and who have not yet received their first dose of vaccine.
“Instructions have been issued to all Chief Medical Health Officers across the State to implement HGDTA in their respective districts. Under the campaign, we aim to reach homes and compile a list of people who have missed out on the vaccination campaign and have not received their second dose despite being eligible for it. Health workers should encourage people to take supplements,” said Dr Raghuraj Singh, Project Director (Vaccination), Health Department.
The health department will also make arrangements for immunization of people at places where at least 10 beneficiaries are willing to take the dose.
