Ben Stokes to Donate Entire Match Fees from Tests against Pakistan to Flood Relief Appeal

England Test captain Ben Stokes on Monday announced that he will donate his entire match fee for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan to a flood relief appeal for the country.

“It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. It is very exciting to be back here after 17 years as a Test team. There is a sense of responsibility between the players and the support group and it is special to be there.”

The three Tests between Pakistan and England are part of the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship and are scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi (December 1-5), Multan (December 9-13) and Karachi (December 17-21).

The England men’s and women’s teams were due to tour Pakistan for white-ball matches last year, but New Zealand canceled their tour just before the start of the first ODI in Rawalpindi, citing security concerns.

The upcoming Test against England is Pakistan’s fifth series in the current WTC cycle – their last series being the two Tests against New Zealand at home in December 2022 and January 2023.
