Before ‘Thalaivi’ release, Kangana Ranaut appeals to Maharashtra government to open theaters

Ahead of the release of her upcoming film “Thalaivi”, actress Kangana Ranaut has urged the Maharashtra government to allow theaters to open and save the film industry from “dying”.

Kangana took to her Instagram story to appeal. She said: “Cases in Maharashtra have refused to request the Maharashtra government to save #openupcinemas and the dying film industry and theater business in Maharashtra.”

On Tuesday morning, she wrote another note on her Instagram story.

“In Maharashtra, restaurants, hotels, offices, local trains everything is open but movie theaters are closed due to covid, according to Maharashtra government covid spreads only in movie theaters.”

Late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actress J. Jayalalithaa’s biopic ‘Thalaivi’ will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

It showcases various aspects of Jayalalithaa’s life, her journey as an actress from an early age to becoming the face of Tamil cinema, as well as her rise to a revolutionary leader who changed the course of state politics.

It is set to release in cinemas on 10 September.
