Bad News For LPG Customers! LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked From Today, Check Rates In Your City

New Delhi: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Friday reduced the price of commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 83.50. The new rates have become effective from today. After the change, the current retail price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi is Rs 1,773.

However, there is no change in the rates of domestic LPG cylinders, OMCs noted.

Domestic LPG cylinder prices increased by Rs. 50 per unit and commercial LPG cylinder prices have been increased by Rs 50. 350.50 per unit on March 1 this year.

The last time the price of a commercial cylinder was reduced by Rs 91.50 on September 1 last year. On 1 August 2022 also, the price of commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 36. Earlier on July 6, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder was cut by Rs 8.5 per unit.

However, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders have not been revised. Most non-Ujjwala users do not get any government subsidy, so they have to pay this cost while buying LPG refills.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana provided free LPG connections to 9.58 crore poor people, with a subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder. The actual cost per cylinder for them will be Rs 903. Rates vary from state to state depending on local taxes.

However, the price of petrol and diesel remained stable breaking records for the 11th consecutive month.

Since April 6, 2022, state-owned fuel traders have not updated petrol and diesel prices on a daily basis as per the 15-day rolling average of benchmark international fuel prices.

The last time the prices were revised was on May 22, when the government reduced excise duty to provide relief to customers from a surge in retail prices coupled with a rise in global oil prices.
