Aussie cricketer’s wife threatens to kill husband ahead of Pakistan tour of Australia

new Delhi: The Australian cricket team is all set to play three Tests, one T20 International and three ODIs during their upcoming tour of Pakistan. Notably, the Australian will participate in an international assignment on Pakistani soil for the first time in 24 years.

Amid security concerns, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had assured Australia of high level of security. However, in the meantime a shocking news has come to light as the wife of Australian team spinner Ashton Agar has been threatened that the cricketer should not come to Pakistan.

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age reported that a spokesman for the Australian cricket team confirmed that Agar’s wife had received death threats for her cricketer husband. According to the report, a complaint was made to Cricket Australia and the Pakistan Cricket Board.

However, there is nothing to worry as after investigation by Team Security, it was found that the death threats were allegedly sent from a fake Instagram account and are not credible at all.

Commenting on the security concerns in Pakistan, Australia’s interim head coach Andrew Macdonald said he thinks it will be a safe and exciting tour.

“I think a lot of doubts were cleared by the process of CA (Cricket Australia) talking directly about safety and talking about the pandemic with COVID… what does it all look like? So yes, a lot of information was flowing through this series, and I think the information has cleared the players’ thoughts and you know they have the option of not touring,” Australia interim head coach Andrew McDonald said at a press conference.

“They’re jumping on the plane. So that’s for me to say they’re ready to go and they’re clear in their mind, that it’s going to be safe and it’s going to be an exciting tour and they’re going around cricket unlike other things.” are turning their heads which could potentially pop in their minds,” he said.
