Ather 450X electric scooter gets new OS, NOW offers Google Vector Maps, AutoHold and more

Indian electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy has released a new update for its OS called AtherStack 5.0. This is the biggest and most significant update till date to the operating system of the brand’s electric scooters – Ather 450 and Ather 450X. “Atherstack 5.0 will provide a new user interface (UI) for the dashboard, in addition to launching vector maps powered by Google,” the company said in a statement. The new AtherStack 5.0 is designed on multiple layers of software, algorithms, system intelligence and firmware. It is used on all 450X electric scooters, and now offers enhanced functionality like Google Vector Maps, auto-hold function and more.

“In 2018, when we launched the AtherStack in the Ather 450, it was the first software engine on any two-wheeler in India, probably globally as well,” said Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO, Ather Energy.

Mehta added, “With a new UI and Google Vector Maps, AtherStack 5.0 takes our touchscreen and Maps experience to a whole new level. It also allows us to leverage our hardware to unlock new experiences like AutoHold. make capable.”

The new upgrade brings a new look to the dashboard and an even more intuitive UI which enhances the overall experience of operating the dashboard. Quick Controls have also been added, allowing users to easily adjust settings like brightness or turn off incoming call notifications with a single click.

“The Ather is the only scooter in the world to offer onboard navigation powered by Google. With the new AtherStack 5.0, the UI will also feature vector maps, which are far smarter and more intuitive than previous versions,” the company said. Powered by AtherStack 5.0, Ather has launched Autohold technology which ensures that the scooter never moves backward or forward on a slope.

In addition, the manufacturer announced ‘Battery Protect’, which extends the battery warranty to 5 years/60,000 kms. According to the company, “This is the first such warranty program in the industry that not only covers battery failures but also guarantees a minimum 70 percent condition for the battery at the end of 5 years.”

Ather Energy expanded the choices for customers by unveiling four new colours, a new comfortable seat and a range of scooter accessories and merchandise from Ather.

The manufacturer said, “As a mark of respect to the early adopters of Ather scooters, the company announced an industry-first buyback offer for its first 1,000 customers. This allows them to buy the new Ather 450X for Rs 80,000 ”
