295 new cases were reported in Mumbai on Wednesday coronavirus Infections, highest in the last three months, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a statement. It said that no one died due to the pandemic in the metropolis during the day.

Earlier, the country’s financial capital had recorded 349 new cases and three deaths on February 12, 2022. The BMC release said the caseload in the city rose to 10,63,571. While the infections are on the rise, they are not life-threatening as the patients are recovering, a civic official said.

Of the 295 patients reported during the day, 12 were hospitalized. 194 patients were cured, taking the total number of recoveries in the city to 10,42,474. Mumbai now has 1,531 active coronavirus patients. The civic body conducted 9,100 coronavirus tests since last evening, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 1,70,88,341.

The recovery rate in the city is 98 per cent, while the overall growth rate of cases during the period from May 18 to 24 was 0.017 per cent. The caseload doubling period is of 3,973 days.
