Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was killed on Friday after being shot twice during an operation in the Nara region. This comes as a shock to many as Japan has one of the lowest rates of gun violence in the world. And, it has a lot to do with Japan’s strict laws on private gun ownership.
