Ludhiana: In its annual session 2021-2022 at Ludhiana, Tea The Ludhiana Zone unanimously elected Ashwin Nagpal, Managing Partner, Haveli Ram Bansi Lal, and Rishi Pahwa, Joint Managing Director, Avon Cycles Ltd, as its Chairman and Vice President (VC) respectively.

Highlighting the work done by CII in the last year, Sawhney said, “CII has played a huge role in helping local industry, especially small businesses, to keep their operations running smoothly during the two major waves of the pandemic. Through our constant advocacy to the government, we have been able to provide a conducive environment for businesses and entrepreneurs to practice ease of doing business in Punjab.
Congratulating the new leadership, Sawhney said that CII should take forward the pre-proposed initiatives with the administration in the Ludhiana region. After initiating discussions with the government, he handed over the beacon to the new president to take the initiative forward.
The new president, Nagpal, highlighted the need for the older generation to hand over the governance of businesses to the younger generation and guide them into the new world, combining his experience with the new, innovative ideas of the youth. He also stressed on the need to formalize the industry to align itself with global standards and attract more business to the sector. He said, “Ludhiana is the oldest industrial hub of the region and its potential lies in enhancing the local business. The need of the hour is to handle small businesses to achieve competitiveness at par with the industry.”
Pahwa expressed the need for active engagement with district and local level administration to give impetus to the local industry. Emphasizing on the importance of improving the industrial hub of Ludhiana, he said, “CII in Ludhiana will focus on promoting the industry by continuously engaging with businesses, startups, entrepreneurs to provide relevant recommendations to the local authorities which in conjunction with work. He underlined the need for professionalization of businesses in Punjab to bring the industry at par with international competition.
