ECB worried foreign players could give 100 misses

However, a Daily Mail report on Sunday said the ECB is wary of Covid cases “affecting foreign arrivals” with the recent surge in cases in the UK over the past few days. The report said that fearing that cricket stars may be reluctant to travel to the UK due to “virus threats”, the ECB has started monitoring the situation.
The report said that this is just a precautionary measure as there is nothing to suggest that the government will impose a virus lockdown.
It has been a problem to get some big names for The Hundred this year and the ECB has allowed eight teams to add a fourth overseas player to their squad. The report said that as per government guidelines, professional players and officials are required to be tested for COVID only if they experience symptoms and “can return to action after a negative result is recorded”.
