A court here has issued an arrest warrant against the BJP MLA from Duddhi assembly constituency in an eight-year-old case of raping a girl.

Additional Sessions Judge Rahul Mishra issued an arrest warrant on Thursday after MLA Ramdular did not appear in the court even after repeated summons.
The court has directed to arrest the MLA on January 23 and produce him in the court.
Assistant District Public Prosecutor Satya Prakash Tripathi said on Friday that a person from Myorpur area had complained to the police on November 4, 2014, that Ramdular, husband of the then village head, had raped his sister several times after threatening her.
The police had filed the charge sheet after a thorough investigation.
Tripathi said the court issued summons to Ramdular several times but he did not appear citing health reasons.
