At the trailer launch press conference of “Ek Villain Returns”, Kapoor revealed that he wanted to work with Suri on “Ek Villain”, but could not as he was busy with “Tevar”, which was directed by his father Boney Kapoor. had produced.
“At that time I was doing my father’s film ‘Tevar’ and I couldn’t do it. And this time, when he (Suri) came to me, I said it was destiny. It meant I was a part of it. I am this film. I decided not to let it go,” the 37-year-old actor told reporters.
Kapoor said that he was never afraid of playing gray characters in his career.
“I’ve been fortunate from my first film that the kind of roles I’ve done have enough color, be it ‘Aurangzeb’ or ‘Ishaqzaade’. I’ve never been afraid to play gray roles, and that’s why it’s exciting for me. To come back to where I started,” he said.
“I have done ‘Half Girlfriend’ with him (Suri), ‘Ki & Ka’, ‘2 States’, I have done all kinds of films. I always wanted to go to the dark side and put it like this. Wanted to do in the set-up and script, which was good,” he said.
Suri was all praise for the way Kapoor portrays his villainous characters on the big screen. Citing the example of ‘Murder 2’, the actor said that he is amazed by Prashanth Narayanan’s performance as the antagonist in the film.

“When you have a director who can take that darkness out and create a story, that’s great. Every villain has an origin and a story that I found exciting.
So the trust I had in Mohit and the team, with the producers and with actors like this, was a no-brainer for me (doing ‘Ek Villain Returns’),” said Kapoor.
Abraham said that when he heard the script of the film, he liked it, “Its story is incredible. Mohit has executed it even better. It’s fantastic.”
The 49-year-old actor, who has previously played unconventional characters in films like “Dhoom”, “Jism” and “Shootout At Wadala”, says “Ek Villain Returns” is like a “ghar wapsi” for him.
Abraham said, “It’s homecoming for me. When I first started with films like ‘Jism’, it was kind of a negative shade. Sometimes it’s boring to play a hero and it’s good to do something different.
