Apple has yet to officially set an opening date for any of the stores, however, it appears the company is testing operations at each location.

After several delays, US-based iPhone maker Apple is reportedly set to open its flagship India retail store in Mumbai next month. an exclusive report from The Economic Times It also revealed that the second outlet will soon be opened in New Delhi.

The Mumbai store, located in the Jio World Drive mall and covering 22,000 sq ft, will be a retail landmark similar to the Apple stores in Los Angeles, New York, Beijing and Singapore, the report said.

According to The Economic Times According to sources, a second smaller store of 10,000 to 12,000 sq ft in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk mall is expected to open in April-June, just days after the Mumbai store.

An official claims that the fitout of both the shops is over. He claims, “In fact, the fitout for the Delhi store was completed before the Mumbai store,” but since the Mumbai store will be the flagship outlet for India, it will open first.

India has become more important to Apple in the last few years due to the growing demand for Apple products. In 2020, Apple opened its online store in India, providing Indian customers with a direct way to buy products directly from Apple without an authorized premium reseller.

Recently, a Reuters report claimed that Foxconn, a Taiwanese contract manufacturer that produces 70% of iPhones, will be manufacturing a significant portion of Apple’s AirPods in India.

To facilitate this, Foxconn plans to invest $200 million to build a new factory in Telangana. Reuters reports that Foxconn has won an order from Apple—which will let it manufacture AirPods for the first time, and marks a gradual shift away from reliance on China.

A source has confirmed to Reuters that Foxconn will invest more than $200 million in its new AirPods plant in Telangana, India. However, the exact price of the AirPods order is unclear.
