iPhone 16 is expected to be announced in September 2024

US-based tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to bring major changes to iPhones next year. The upcoming lower-end iPhone 16 model may feature a vertical layout for its rear camera lens. This change in design is expected to come in the bigger iPhone 16 Plus as well.
MacRumors reports that according to information shared by Twitter account @URedditor, the iPhone 16 will see the return of the vertical camera layout that was last seen on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.
The leaker suggests that this change will make the device easily recognizable as the latest model, especially when combined with other new design elements like the dynamic island and the introduction of a USB-C port.

It’s possible that Apple has once again found a way to fit camera components within the vertical orientation.
The iPhone 16 is expected to be announced in September 2024, which means it is still a long way away from its official release. As is the case with all rumours, it is important to note that the design plans are subject to change before the final product is unveiled.
On the other hand, major changes are expected for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which are rumored to come with larger displays of 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch respectively. These Pro models are expected to feature a triple-lens rear camera system, and thus the vertical layout will not be applicable to them.
