Bollywood has given us some of the best sports dramas. From Shahrukh Khanto ‘Chak De India’ Priyanka ChopraFrom ‘Mary Kom’, we have come across some inspiring stories from the sports field. Sports based movies are a perfect Bollywood movie as they are full of drama, competition and inspiring stories. Bollywood has churned out its share of sports dramas over the years and a few more are lined up ahead. From Anushka Sharmato ‘Chakda Express’ Aamir Khan‘Champions’, here are five upcoming sports dramas we can’t wait to watch.

1. ‘Chakda Xpress’

Based on the glorious journey of Jhulan, one of the fastest female fast bowlers in the history of world cricket, the Netflix film will show how the fast bowler climbed the ladder against innumerable odds to fulfill her only dream: to play cricket. Jhulan captained the Indian women’s national cricket team and is a role model for aspiring cricketers in the country.

‘Chakda Express’ will be Anushka Sharma’s first film after the birth of daughter Vamika in 2021.

2. Champions

Aamir Khan is all set to make the official Hindi remake of a Spanish film titled Campeones. The actor was initially supposed to star in the film. However, he stepped out of the film and decided to produce it. Aamir has offered this film Salman Khan However, those who have loved the story are yet to sign on the dotted lines. The film is expected to go on floors in June 2023. It will be directed by RS Prasanna. Set against the backdrop of basketball, it follows the story of an arrogant coach who is forced to do community service for coaching a team with developmental disabilities.

3. Biopic of Sourav Ganguly

After biopics on cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Kapil Dev and others, a film on Sourav Ganguly is eagerly awaited. The much-talked-about biopic was announced in 2019. reports were rife Ranbir Kapoor Will play the role of an ace cricketer in the film. However, the actor recently revealed that he will not be playing Sourav in his biopic. The makers of the film are yet to finalize any actor for the lead role.

4. Biopic of Abhinav Bindra

A biopic on Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra is one of the most anticipated films in Bollywood. Anil KapoorK’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor will play the role of an ace shooter in the film. The film is based on Bindra’s autobiography ‘A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold and Beyond’. This project has been in the making for a long time. Harsh recently revealed that the film will be his first theatrical release in six years and they are aiming for a 2024 release.

5. Mr. and Mrs. Mahi

After entertaining with her sizzling chemistry and performance in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy Roohi, Rajkummar Rao And Jhanvi Kapoor Mr and Mrs will reunite in Mahi. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the actors will be seen playing Mahendra and Mahima in the sports drama. The film is reportedly a story about cricket craving. It will also star Rajesh Sharma and Kumud Mishra in lead roles.
