On Sunday, one of Beetown’s favorite couples Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli turned out for the FA Cup Finale 2023 at the resplendent Manchester City Football Club. The couple had recently flown to London to be a part of it at Wembley Stadium. Joining them was cricketer Shubman Gill.
Sharing a video from the stadium, Anushka wrote, “Congratulations to @mancity and @peptim on sealing City’s seventh FA Cup! 👊🏆 Such an effortless display of sportsmanship and composure by all the players.
Manchester City and Manchester United played against each other. In the video, Virat and Anushka can be seen laughing and joking around the stadium hand in hand, cheering for their favorite team. The video ends with the text “And just like the sky…blue rules the field” appearing.
Earlier talking about the mega clash, Anushka said that she enjoyed this clash as she had also watched El Clásico – Barcelona vs Real Madrid in the past. “Yeah, it’s been crazy. It’s been amazing. The kind of passion you can get in a game of football is really unique. So yeah, enjoying myself. To watch Man City. Yes, I have gone to one of the games before and like Virat because I have bragging rights. So I went to an El Clásico,” Anushka said in a video posted by Manchester City.
While Kohli said that he only watched the pre-season matches live from the stadium. However, he revealed that he entered the stadium five minutes late and missed Manchester City’s first goal, which he scored in only 12 seconds. “We were five minutes late and Manchester City were 1-0 up so missed out on seeing Man City score. I’ve been to the football stadium once before, but there’s a pre-season game, it’s totally unbelievable and unbelievable life,” Kohli said.
Meanwhile, Kohli is preparing for Australia in the ICC World Test Championship final. Australia and India’s Championship game is scheduled to take place between June 7 and June 11, with June 12 scheduled as a backup date. Virat Kohli has 8416 runs in 183 innings of Test cricket.
On the work front, Anushka will next be seen in Netflix-exclusive sports biopic film “Chakda Express”, which is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The exact release date of the film is yet to be released.
