Antim: The Final Truth, Title Salman Khan And Aayush Sharma received good reviews on Friday, however, the positive response did not translate into box office numbers. According to initial estimates, the film managed to collect only Rs 4.25-4.5 crore on its opening day.
A report by Boxofficeindia.com said that “Antiem: The Final Truth collected in the 4.25-4.50 crore nett range which is a fair collection if the film can get some solid growth on Saturday.” Hinting at how Salman’s release affected John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate 2, which opened in theaters on Thursday, the report further said, “Antiem: The Final Truth adds to the collection of Satyamev Jayate 2. Has impressed what was expected and the film is down 40-50 per cent. Percentage with huge drop in big multiplexes. ,
The action-packed drama stars Aayush Sharma as a gangster and Dabangg actor as an honest police officer. The film’s trailer also teased a major one-off fight between the two actors, who were seen shirtless during the final fight sequence.
Salman, who killed it in his popular cop turn in Dabangg, played the role of Inspector Rajveer Singh in the final. Aayush Sharma, who was last seen in Loveyatri, shares the screen with his brother-in-law for the first time. Sharma is married to Salman’s sister Arpita Khan. The film also stars Mahesh V. Manjrekar, Mahima Makwana and Pragya Jaiswal.
The film is a remake of the 2018 Marathi film Mulshi Pattern, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Salman Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films.
Talking about his character in the final, Salman told us, “I realize that I have played a cop many times, but I loved the subject. Initially I had two opinions whether I should do it or not, but this thought stuck in my mind. And, I was told that it was a small role but I refused to accept it. I was working on the script with Mahesh (Manjrekar) and I knew what we were making. We have taken the original plot from the original plot itself. The script has been changed and it is a completely different film. It’s lavishly put together whereas the original was made on a limited budget.”
