Captain Amarinder Singh and Principal Secretary Vinny Mahajan at the virtual meeting of the Punjab Cabinet.

The rival camp of Captain Amarinder Singh and three ministers close to Sidhu did not attend the cabinet meeting. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria kept their distance from the cabinet meeting held on Thursday. This meeting was called virtually. After receiving a reply from Harish Rawat demanding the removal of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the three have registered their protest by not attending the meeting.

The tenure of the Punjab government has remained only for about 6 months and this meeting was very important for the next assembly elections, but due to non-availability of angry ministers, the market for discussions is hot. At the same time, Punjab ‘Mera Kaam Mera Mann’ scheme has been started to help unemployed youth in employment. From the current financial year, it has been decided to give Rs 2500 per month to construction workers and their children during 12 months of training. It has been decided to waive off loans of up to Rs 50,000 each from Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation (PSCFC) and Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (Backfinco). In this regard, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that under the scheme, a total of 14853 borrowers (10151 of PSCFC and 4702 of Backfinco) have been given its benefits.

Bajwa did not even reach Punjab Bhawan
Navjot Singh Sidhu had demanded from the Chief Minister that every day from Monday to Friday, the cabinet ministers would sit in Punjab Bhawan and listen to the common people, Congress workers and MLAs and get their work done. A roster was issued for this. Under which the duty of sitting in Punjab Bhawan was done by Rajinder Bajwa on Thursday, but he did not reach Punjab Bhawan.
