Prayagraj: As the health department plans to intensify the covid vaccination drive against covid 19, the city is likely to cross the 10 lakh vaccination mark this week.
So far, more than 9.57 lakh doses have been given to eligible recipients in the district, along with more than 10,000 jabs per day in each age group.
Notably, around 4.48 percent of the target recipients have received both the doses of the COVID vaccine in India so far confluence City. With 3,985 more people taking the second time, the number of people who are now fully immunized against Covid reached 1,79,089 on Sunday. Their number has increased to 7,78,089, with 19.51 percent of the target recipients taking the first dose.
Health officials have set a target to vaccinate about 39.87 lakh people, which includes 27 lakh recipients in the age group of 18 to 44 years and 12.87 lakh over 45 years.
As per the latest data of the Health Department, till July 11, 9,57,660 COVID shots have been given to the beneficiaries of all age groups in the district.
While 7,78,089 people have taken the first dose, 1,79,571 people have taken the second dose. A total of 10,368 vaccines were administered to people of all age groups in the last 24 hours, including 6,383 recipients of the first dose and 3,985 of the second shot.
District Immunization Officer (DIO) and Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr Tirath Lal told TOI, “We are making sincere efforts to increase the number of recipients in urban, semi-urban and rural areas. We will conduct vaccination from Monday at 44 locations, which includes 21 sites in rural areas and 23 sites in urban areas.
He said that the vaccination drive would be conducted at all the 20 community health centers and one urban CHC in the district.
“The number of vaccination sites depends on the availability of vaccine doses and if we have enough stock of vaccines, the number of sites increases,” said a senior health official.
