Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court is set to resume physical hearings in both the benches (Lucknow and Allahabad) from Wednesday.
The court has finalized and issued guidelines in this regard. However, the virtual mode of hearing will continue. Advocate room will not be opened in the first phase. Although the system of physical hearing is successful on the guidelines set by the High Court, then a decision will be taken regarding opening the chamber.
As per the guidelines, only those advocates who have been vaccinated against COVID will be allowed in the premises. They must show the vaccination certificate at the time of admission without protest, otherwise the committee may withdraw the physical hearing arrangement.
During the physical hearing, advocates will have to follow the COVID protocols like wearing face masks/covers and maintaining social distancing. Only those advocates will enter the premises whose cases are listed and for this they will have to show the case list on mobile phone or any other mode.
During physical hearing, advocates will be allowed to opt for virtual hearing with advance information to the registry, thus e-mode will also be operational till further orders.
Advocates will be present in the court room in which their cases are listed to avoid overcrowding. Not more than 10 advocates will be allowed in the court room at a time. Clothing prescribed for advocates will remain suspended. They will enter the High Court from the gates notified separately for Allahabad and Lucknow campus.
Apart from this, consumption of ‘paan’, ‘gutka’ and other tobacco items will be prohibited inside the High Court premises. The guidelines state that spitting in the High Court premises will be prohibited and will be punished.
If 50 or more COVID positive cases are detected for three consecutive days, the physical hearing will be suspended again.
