In the era of epidemic, the Supreme Court has given another big decision. The court said on Wednesday that the family members are entitled to compensation in case of death due to corona. The government should compensate them. The amount of compensation will be decided by the government. The court, while making a strong comment on the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), said that it should decide the guidelines for giving compensation.

SC gave 3 more instructions
1.
The system of issuance of death certificate should be simplified in case of death due to corona. Officials issue guidelines for this.
2. As proposed by the Finance Commission, on the basis of this, the Center should formulate an insurance scheme for the family of the person whose life is in disaster.

3. Keeping in mind the minimum standards of relief, NDMA should issue guidelines for the families of the deceased within 6 weeks.

2 important observations of the court during the decision
On NDMA:
It is your duty to specify the minimum scale of relief. There is nothing on record to show that you have issued any such relief or compensation guideline for the Kovid victims. You have failed to perform your statutory duty.
on center: No country has immense resources. Such a thing as compensation is based on circumstances and facts. In such a situation, it is not right that we should direct the Center to give such a fixed amount for compensation. This amount will have to be decided by the Centre. Ultimately, the center decides the priorities.

Appealed for 4 lakh compensation in the petition
The Bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice MR Shah has given this decision in Gaurav Bansal vs Central Government and Ripak Kansal vs Central Government case. The petitioner had said that a compensation of Rs 4 lakh should be given to the families who lost their lives due to corona infection and ill health after infection. It was also said in the petition that the process of issuing death certificate should be simplified in case of death due to corona.

Big decision given on migrant laborers a day ago
The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the states and union territories to implement the One Nation-One Ration Card scheme by July 31, so that migrant laborers who have gone from their states to other states get ration easily. Directed the Center to develop a portal for the registration of unorganized laborers so that they can be given the benefit of the schemes. The Center should provide ration to the states and the states should run community kitchens till the situation arising out of the epidemic in the country is over.
