Angry Mickey Johar tells fellow MK Idit Silman: ‘Answer me like a good girl’

“Answer me like a good girl,” said Likud MK Mickey Zohar to the chairman of the arranging committee MK Idit Silman In a Knesset session on Monday morning.

In a video shared on Twitter by Army Radio, Zohar can be heard speaking on Silman, who has been threatened with death, as she attempts to silence the committee.

“Who are you anyway? Answer me like a good girl,” said Johar with disdain after Silman refused to stop the proceedings to answer his question.

“I won’t answer your question, you’re late committee,” Silman shot back at the Likud MK.

Before the meeting, Zohar spoke to Army Radio, scheduling the committee vote at 8:30 a.m., an “impossible time”, and said it was too early in the day to schedule the meetings.

Committee members then continued to speak on Silman as he tried to restore order.

Speaking about the incident, Aliyah and Unity Minister Panina Tamano-Shata called the incident “cowardly fundamentalism” and added that it was “not just a personal slur on MK Silman, but a disregard for the status of women in general.” was.”

She also said that she had written to Knesset President MK Mickey Levy requesting the ethics committee to investigate the incident if it deems it necessary.

Silman took to Twitter to comment on the incident, suggesting that this was not the first time such incidents had occurred.

“They call me a little girl. Once, twice, three times. And then I understood that this is the way. There is a guiding hand. Kindergarten strategy. But this time it won’t work…” she said .

Zohar later apologized to Silman, saying he spoke “in the heat of the moment”. Silman has recently received death threats to both him and his family, his office said on Sunday. As a result of the threats, Yamina MK is assigned additional security.

“The threats against me and my family are the result of unprecedented and deliberate attacks by opposition members,” Silman said.

Among the threats sent to MK were statements like “You must experience what it is like to be a bereaved mother” and “One of your children to die in a terrorist attack”.
