It was alleged that Naidu’s microphone was confiscated, electricity was cut off in the area and also that the police confiscated generators, causing many hindrances in the meeting

Former chief minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu recently expressed anger at the state government for creating hurdles at every step for his campaign in Anaparthy, Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu addressed a scheduled meeting at Anaparthy on Friday in a public vehicle after his campaign vehicle was denied permission. It was alleged that Naidu’s microphone was confiscated, electricity was cut off in the area and also that the police seized generators, causing many hindrances to the meeting.

Walking more than eight kilometers to reach Anaparthy, the TDP supremo attacked CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and said, “This mad chief minister has obstructed my journey to Anaparthy and the police has given permission for the meeting in the morning.” Saying What will they say about this letter allowing my meeting.

Referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s freedom struggle, Chandrababu Naidu said, “The great Mahatma Gandhi had conducted Dandi march during the freedom movement and now I have conducted the non-partisan march completely disregarding the unfair decisions of the state government.”

Pointing out that as chief minister he had extended full cooperation to former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s ‘padayatra’ (foot march), Chandrababu said, “Did I create any hindrance for Dr YSR or CM Jagan?”

Sending out a strong message to the police, Naidu said once the TDP is voted back to power, the police would be taught a “proper lesson”.

“As a chief minister for 14 years, I have faced many humiliations,” he said and dubbed Jagan a “financial extremist”. Every class is suffering under Jagan’s rule, Chandrababu said, pointing to an incident in which a child died in Paderu and the parents had to carry the body on a two-wheeler for over 130 km.

“This is an example of how systems break down,” Chandrababu Naidu said, calling on the people to “get rid of such problems” to oust the Jagan-led state government from power. Naidu clarified that he was not fighting to become chief minister again, but to “save the state from psychological rule”.
