The BJP had called for a bandh on Friday in Nashik, Amravati and Nanded to protest the violence that broke out during state-wide demonstrations and rallies by Raza Academy and other Muslim organizations.
In the morning, a huge crowd waving flags, carrying banners and raising slogans took to the streets amid tight police security deployed in the city.
Soon after, some sections pelted stones at private or public vehicles, shops and establishments. And the police gave sticks to the miscreants to quell the violence.
