The lyrics of the song are being accused of hurting the religious sentiments of the Muslim community and hence both john, who wrote the song, and Amy Virk left an apology letter on her social media handle.
The note read – “My sincere apologies for being niece and hurting the sentiments of many people from the songs of Mere Qubool A (released in 2020), I had no intention of hurting religious sentiments and wish I could recite those songs. Would have known the interpretation before putting it in the song. If I had known I would have never done it. As soon as we realized how it could be interpreted, which we were not aware of, we removed the song And have changed the lyrics. Almighty forgive me and the others involved in the song for not realizing that this might be hurtful. Once again my sincere apologies.”

After these posts, many of his fans have commented that he did not find anything wrong in the song or the lyrics. However, according to the reports, it did not go well. Naib Shaahi Imam Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani of Jama Masjid, Ludhiana. Reportedly, he has objected to the word ‘Inspired‘, which has been used in the song. In Arabic, ‘Rasool’ translates to ‘Messenger or Prophet’.
In Islam, the related term refers to the last prophet of Allah, Prophet Muhammad. He has a very respectable place in Islam. Hence Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani mentioned that the lyrics of the song have hurt the worldwide community. He reportedly accused Ammi Virk and team ‘Sufna’ of being ignorant, and demanded the government to take strict action against them under Article 295 for hurting the religious sentiments of the Muslim community.
Now though both Ammi and Jani have publicly apologized, Mulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani is reportedly adamant on letting the issue go smoothly.
