Amid Amritpal Singh Crackdown, Punjab Police’s ‘…Love The Way You Lie Meme’ For Khalistanis

New Delhi: In the wake of a major crackdown on Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, the Punjab Police has released a meme to raise awareness about fake news, which can potentially lead to unrest and law and order difficulties. The meme depicts the state police attempting to raise awareness about misinformation and rumours.

The official handle of Punjab Police said, “We don’t like the way you lie (but we will definitely catch you) Think twice before sharing any kind of news on social media! #FakeDiKhairNahi.” The hashtag “#FakeDiKhairNahi” roughly translates to “We will not shun fake news”. The meme message comes amid a multitude of rumors about the Khalistani leader’s whereabouts, some of which may inflame people.

Punjab Police Commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill today told the media that the province is completely peaceful and advised people not to believe in rumors and fake news. He said that those found spreading propaganda would have to face serious consequences.

State-wide action was taken in Punjab on Saturday against Amritpal Singh-led organization ‘Waris Punjab De’. The Khalistani leader managed to escape after his convoy was intercepted in Jalandhar. The police have detained more than 100 associates of the Khalistani leader in the last two days and a search has been launched for them.

Earlier, in the interest of public safety, the Punjab government had extended the suspension of SMS and mobile internet services, except voice calls, till Monday afternoon. Amritsar Deputy Commissioner of Police Parminder Singh Bhandal told the media that the police have set up 100 nakas to check vehicles in Amritsar and its outskirts. CRPF personnel are also there along with the policemen at the posts.

Amritpal Singh’s lawyer Khara also alleged that the police wanted to kill him in a “fake encounter”. Describing the threat to Amritpal Singh’s life, Advocate Khara has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court and filed a written petition.

According to experts and officials monitoring the situation in Punjab, Pakistan, which is going through its worst economic phase and has lost all the wars fought against India, is trying to divert the attention of its people by placing puppets like Amritpal Singh inside India. Trying hard to remove.
