#Kolkata: The former chief secretary of the state is demanding justice. Former state bureaucrat Alapan Bandyopadhyay has filed a case in the Calcutta High Court. Alapan Bandopadhyay, retired chief secretary of the adjoining state of the Calcutta High Court, has challenged the direction of the Principal Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (Delhi). The matter is likely to come up for hearing tomorrow.

The case filed by Alapan Bandopadhyay has been transferred from the Kolkata Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal to the Principal Bench in Delhi on October 22. Alapana Bando Padhyay has today approached the High Court challenging that direction.

On May 26, the then Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay was called to Delhi for an important review meeting in the presence of the Prime Minister. Actually, he could not attend the PM’s meeting as he was busy dealing with the damage caused by Cyclone Yes. Alapana Banerjee had recently filed a case in the Calcutta Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal seeking quashing of the probe. The hearing was held on October 22 at 3 pm. The DoPT had applied to the Principal Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal to transfer the matter from Kolkata to Delhi. Based on this application, the Delhi Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal on October 22 directed the transfer of the case from Kolkata. Tomorrow (26-10-21) has been scheduled for hearing. This time Alapone challenged the order and approached the High Court.
